Position: VP of Global Carrier Sales
iSkoot leads the new wave of mobile/web convergence, bringing the online services users value most to mass-market handsets without compromising quality of service or user experience.
Having successfully brought to market the first carrier-friendly, carrier-grade mobile VoIP solution, iSkoot now seeks a visionary executive to drive global sales of an expanded product line built on the same proven technical platform. iSkoot is headquartered in San Francisco and with support from Khosla Ventures and Charles River Partners has already grown to over 60 employees worldwide.
The iSkoot-powered 3 Skypephone (http://www.3skypephone.com) has delivered tremendous value for 3 Mobile and is now launched in eight countries. The VP of Carrier Sales will understand the value of a live carrier success story, the potential impact of the products in the pipeline, the significance of iSkoot’s ecosystem-friendly technology, and how to translate those elements into a powerful selling proposition for leading wireless carriers worldwide.
iSkoot’s VP of Global Carrier Sales will take ownership of the full carrier sales cycle and will hold primary responsibility for closing carrier accounts for iSkoot’s two complementary product lines. This will require developing a strong sales plan, working with marketing to effectively position our products in the marketplace, forecasting quarterly sales, sourcing and opening opportunities, structuring initial engagements and product trials, and most importantly, closing deals.
To excel in this role, you’ll need to be plugged in to the global carrier community, effective in developing new C-level relationships, creative in overcoming roadblocks and confident in looking for the close. You’ll also need to be enthused at the prospect of working alongside, keeping up with, and demonstrating leadership within a talented, experienced, and motivated management team as well as independent and resourceful enough to thrive in a start-up environment.
The VP of Global Carrier Sales will be a senior member of the management team, reporting directly to the CEO, and will be accountable for iSkoot’s carrier business revenue. If that sounds appealing, we’re looking forward to hearing from you.
- Responsibilities:
- Develop sales plan for iSkoot’s two primary products
- Source, open, negotiate, and close global carrier deals
- Work with marketing to position iSkoot’s products
- Build and manage internal and external sales and account management team
- Up-sell clients on new opportunities
- Communicate feedback from the field to product and marketing team
- Assist in corporate strategy development
- Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in global technology sales, with a minimum of 5 years in mobile
- Deep understanding of mobile industry
- Contacts with senior decision makers within the mobile industry, and ability to get to those you don’t know
- Proven success in selling to and cultivating strong relationships with senior carrier executives
- Ability to adjust strategies and realign priorities in a continually changing environment
- Ability to identify and realize long-term sales goals
- Experience with and enjoyment of the challenges of a global sales roll
- Exceptional leadership and management skills and ability to build a great team
- Self-starter, organized and highly motivated
- Understanding of consumer web landscape a plus
- Client and project management skills, along with excellent communication skills
